A Rose By Any Other Name
This is a common saying and very true.
This saying can be applied to man for man is a rose,
a spiritual bloom.
No matter what name he goes by in the material world,
even those of thief and murderer,
spiritually he is still a rose.
An unawakened rose perhaps but a rose nevertheless because, like all things, he was created by God
and deep down, buried in the toil of his hatred,
his greed and his ignorance,
there lies a tiny seed of divinity which will never die.
Slowly it will force its way through these things.
It may develop thorns to protect itself such as loneliness, living away from its fellow men and becoming a recluse until one day it realizes it has no need of thorns.
Then a bud is formed and man goes out to help his fellow men and in service to them, and therefore in service to God,
he blossoms forth into the full bloom of the rose.
This process is going on in each one of us now.
Gradually, gradually the rose of our spirit is
forging its way through the stone and clay of our materialism.
It may take millions of years and many incarnations but,
as sure as a new day will dawn tomorrow,
we will reach full bloom and take our place
in the rose garden of God's love.
